At Linscomb Wealth, we are deeply committed to making a positive difference in our local communities. Through our dedicated team of partners and volunteers, we’ve had the privilege of contributing to various initiatives that address important issues in the Houston area and beyond.
Most recently, we partnered with three impactful organizations – Kids' Meals, the Hess Houston Corporate Run 5K, and Friends of the Houston Public Library/Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation. Our volunteers have shown unwavering dedication, and we're delighted to highlight their efforts.
Helping to end childhood hunger with Kids’ Meals
In collaboration with Kids' Meals, our team of L&W volunteers had the opportunity to make a significant impact. During our shift, we helped prepare up to 6,300 meals for underprivileged children in Houston. By working in the warehouse sorting crates of bagged lunches, we helped ensure that over 2,500 children were provided with a nourishing meal.
Running for a cause at the Hess Houston Corporate Run 5K
L&W's involvement in the 2023 Hess Houston Corporate Run 5K was a testament to our commitment to fitness and community involvement. Cadence Bank, our parent company, was a sponsor of this event, paving the way for several enthusiastic L&W participants to take part in the largest run in the event's seven-year history. This not only promoted health and wellness but also helped raise awareness for important causes. Congratulations to our dedicated team for their participation in this wonderful event.
Supporting literacy with the Friends of Houston Public Library and Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation
Last month, our L&W team joined forces with the Friends of the Houston Public Library to make a positive difference in the local literary scene. We tackled a range of tasks, from sorting books into predetermined genres to unloading, assessing, and categorizing books based on their condition.
One exciting highlight was discovering the diverse range of books donated to the warehouse, including a biography of "Mattress Mack," a beloved Houston figure. We witnessed the power of books to connect people with all kinds of wonderful stories. A nice surprise came in the opportunity for each volunteer to choose one free book, making this experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
We’re incredibly proud of our dedicated volunteers and their contributions to these important endeavors. Our commitment to serving our communities will remain a top focus of our firm, and we will continue these efforts well into the future. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to these wonderful organizations and to all our 2023 volunteers. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant Houston community.
